For Weeks Ashkenatza and Shireroth have been engaging in a war of words revealing a deep rift of mistrust between Ashkenatza, and Shireroth which has brought out the issue of Ashkenatza opposing the Small Commonwealth’s expansion. The River Elwynn lies between Ashkenatza and Shireroth on Benacia, and Askenaza claims the area should be apart an autonomous zone in Ashkenatza (since a predominantly ethnic Ashkenatzi population allegedly resides there) while some in Shireroth have vowed to ensure that the River remains ‘forever Shirerothian’ as it has historically been.
The war of words uncovered allegations that it is Shireroth’s intention that Askenatza join the small commonwealth, a claim Shireroth loosely denies. As of now only one plausible proposal has been tabled, that is to essentially make the region a joint controlled demilitarized zone.
This comes amidst another border dispute with Asheknatza involved, this one between Batavia who is weary of Ashkenatza’s ultimatum demanding that a region in the Kingdom become autonomous and essentially Ashkenatzi territory, a move which has been criticized but not answered by Batavia.
Benacia’s new powerhouse has been eager to flex its muscles in the region after it received a major territorial gain late last year after the annexation of Tellia.
