CJ Miller returns at a time where Hamland is developing in different directions from the old times. Hamland since the collapse of the United Commonwealth has grown more Autocratic and less imperialist as time has lapsed. The last major conflict was dubbed a peacekeeping mission and very little action was actually taken. The government has instead looked closely at reform as being a main agenda as well as making Hamland less democratic in an attempt to change the form of governance to being one where all Hamlanders support the nation's interests.
This is changing. Although largely unsuccessful in his attempts at becoming elected, CJMiller has been the main opposition figure in Hamland and so this means that there will be a shift back towards the democratic process. There have been no elections for a long time because there has been no opposition to the HNP's rule.
Safiria joining Hamland would also signal a move towards a more United Hammish homeland and a more federal outlook with other states. Safiria would represent a shift back to a multi state Commonwealth which would also show Hamland growing in terms of influence. This coming at the same time as proposals of "Hammish Monovia".
The Parliament was introduced to a letter from the Monovian National Liberal Party, the old pro-Hamland party, saying that they wished Hamland to claim the part of old Monovia where the majority of Hamlanders resided during its time of being in the nation. The Government approved it and is expecting to claim quite soon. This former state returning to Hamland would represent a third nation joining Hamland and signalling a return to the old fashion of governance.
Safiria joining would enact a change in foreign policy, and Monovia would affect relations with Ocia, so major change is yet to come...
