The Democratic Republic of Bobalania latest Presidential Election has come under fire by current President and Candidate 2009, Bobbie Bailey. Bailey, who set up Bobalania in 2006, is fighting to keep his seat as President of Bobalania after recent victories by Sir Kieran Henson, who was Prime Minister from January 2008 - November 2008. But Sir Kieran, who is also Chairman of the Electoral Commission, called a second round of voting even though President Bailey won the first round. Sir Kieran said: “A second round of Voting was necessary because a citizen wanted to retract their vote and was unable to do so, after the poll locked 2 days before it was officially supposed too, so if the citizen had retracted his vote, the poll would’ve been 2 - 2″.

Sir Kieran Henson who has since stepped down as Chairman of the EC and handed over to General Jack Nishtke, Current Prime Minister of Bobalania, won the second round but another final round of voting set up by the PM, was set up yesterday which Sir Kieran Henson is leading 3 -1 so far.

Although the Alexandrian players competed hard they were no match for Passas’s football veterans while being down their star player Jean-Pierre D’Oliviera.

Micras’ eyes are now fixed on the next semi final match between Craiteland and Bobalania which will decide who will compete against Passas for the 2008 World Cup in Amokolia. Right now the outcome of the match is up in the air as both teams have been playing extremely well; with Craiteland putting Hamland to shame earlier this week 3-0, and Bobalania defeating the talented Shireroth Football Team 6-4 in the quarter finals. Stay with MillenniumNews for full cover age of the Micras World Cup 2008 in Amokolia.

The Democratic Republic of Bobalania are currently deciding on whether to change their current Government Style by National Referendum set by Bobalania’s Prime Minister Sir Kieran Henson.

Out of the several possibilities which include a constitutional monarchy, Socialist Republic and an all power Prime Minister, a simple President and Vice President style is currently winning by 4 votes. But Bobalania have hit a barrier, if the current Government Style is changed, The current Prime Minister along with his number two Damien Biggs will take up the roles of President and Prime Minister. But this leaves a problem, Bobbie Bailey, Founder and current ceremonial President of the nation will be left with no title.

Sir Kieran Henson told us outside his home in the cliffs of Area Henson, Bobalania’s newest acquisition of Land, that he could not comment on this until he had spoken with Mr Bailey. This would another problem for the founder of the apparent 300 citizen nation, due to the fact that he has only just regained the now ceremonial styled role due to a previous Motion of No Confidence, which was signed by all of the Cabinet.
