Yesterday’s Intense Presidential Elections as expected have left no decisive winner. Today, Ocia’s electoral commission announced that two candidates Michael Dervin and Anthony Montague both received 37.5% of the electoral vote while Matt Kovac trailed in last with 25% of the electoral Vote in a historic Presidential election which brought a record turnout.

Ocian law requires that the Presidential Winner receive at least 51% of the electoral vote so two candidates (Most Likely Michael Dervin and Anthony Montague) will face off on a Run-off election set for Thursday according to the Ocian Electoral Commission. However unlikely, if a Candidate does withdrawal from Thursday’s runoff it will allow Matt Kovac, the current candidate which will be eliminated from the runoff because he received the least electoral votes, to face off in the election.

Monday’s Presidential election did not come without controversy as Ocia’s Returning Election officer Kieran Henson pushed to delay the elections to Wednesday after he claimed Matt Kovac and Anthony Montague illegally campaigned the day before the election, something which is not regulated by Ocian Law. After a long standing dispute Ocia’s Supreme Court ruled that the Electoral Commission did not have sutch power and instead fined both the Candidates. Even after the ruling, Ocia’s controversial Electoral Officer Kieran Henson, claimed to have disqualified Ocian Presidential Candidate Matt Kovac after he allegedly deleted the electoral officer’s posts announcing the reschedule of the Ocian Election. The Ocian Supreme Court however ruled that it was well in Kovac’s rights to do so.

All eyes will be on Ocia on Monday as Ocians head to the polls to select their next President. This election has already been dubbed “historic” and it will most likely decide the direction of the Federation for a long time to come.

The Kovac campaign has been busy at work launching last minute adds with campaign slogans like “Kovac is For Luthoria” while criticizing other campaigns for the lack of attention they gave Ocia’s second most populace region; Luthoria. The Montague campaign commenced a bold campaign move by making speeches in so called “Dervin and Kovac Strongholds” while conveying to Ocians that he would be an excellent Supreme Commander of the Ocian Defence Forces. On the Dervin front, many have been surprised by the campaigns lack of campaigning, which is most likely due to the fact that a recent political poll puts Michael Dervin in a comfortable lead against his two other opponents.

Ocian Political anlysizers say that the results of Monday’s election could be surprising and that it is possible that the Presidential election will be undecided forcing a run-off election. A Run-off election could even occur if a candidate has the most votes, because the winner must have at least a certain percent of votes according to the Ocian constitution.    This December’s upcoming Ocian Presidential Elections may be the most important and highly anticipated in Ocia’s history. Last week’s surprising announcement from Lovely’s long time citizen Anthony Montague pleased many as the experienced micronationalist and new Ocian citizen entered the race. In his speech in front of a large crowd in Personova square last week he stated that, “[He] will lead this federation to the best of [his] ability” while later suggesting that another Dervin presidency would lack, “enthusiasm” and a Kovac Presidency would be a term of so called, “extremist nationalism.”

“I am formidable to oppose, I am warm and friendly”
-Anthony Montague

Michael Dervin started his campaign early by making a speech summarizing the accomplishments of his campaign while sharply criticising Matt Kovac by saying, “should the vote of gone to Mr. Kovac, then Ocia would of not survived the Summer and would not be in the prosperous and world leading position it is in today.” Kovac responded to MillenniumNews by saying, “I led the movement to found Ocia, led Ocia during its period of record high activity and I personally oversaw Military upgrades, I think that on the contrary, Ocia would be in a far better position today had the vote gone to me.” Some also criticized Dervin’s speech for claiming to have executed military reforms; something which is widely known was the sole doing of Kovac. Despite this, the speech received great reviews especially from the LDO whose leader Kieran Henson announced their party’s support for Michael Dervin’s candidacy.

The Kovac campaign is actively working on spreading its message by releasing a serious of attack ads criticizing Michael Dervin’s lack of charisma. Matt Kovac is expected to be endorsed by the Green Party some time this week. Surprisingly, the Conservative party of Ocia announced that they will not be endorsing a single candidate; instead they will support both Matt Kovac and Michael Dervin.
